In humanitarian crises such as pandemics, natural disasters or armed conflicts, humanitarian assistance is intended to save lives, alleviate suffering and enable a return to decent living conditions. The participation of women in dealing with humanitarian crises is essential. Princella Arkor Godzi gives insights in humanitarian work in Sub-Saharan Africa and explains the dynamics and complexities involved in culture and work-life balance from the lens of a native woman.
Princella Arkor Godzi is Deputy Course Director for Humanitarian Assistance in West Africa (HAWA) courses at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Ghana; working under the Humanitarian Assistance in West Africa project funded by the Austrian Development Agency and supported by Austrian Ministry of Defence through the Austrian Centre for Peace (ACP).
